Fauna - finished (nudity)

Hi,

I think I’ve finished this character. It was a long trip, much longer that I’ve expected…

Modelled in XSI, sculpted, polypainted with Zbrush3. Leafs are from Ivy (freeware Ivy generator stuff). BG is a Vue sky.

So I came up with five versions, and I don’t know which one to use as a real final. So, its up to you, dear viewers, to decide which to be used as a final Fauna

Wow. They are all stunning. But if you want a vote, mines for V4.

My vote for #5
And the overall image looks good for me (if you ask) but tree trunk looks to bumpy (crunchy) IMHO

Bravo

I vote for 5! Why? Because there i see a mood applied to all parts of the scene. For me - it’s scene “shotted” right after rain - rain’s ended a second ago and clear sun appeared in the sky…
P.S.: sorry for english m8s

Jester: a big compliment! Such a beautiful image, there’s a story in it, and it’s well modeled and rendered. It’s stunning! Never seen a female faun before, and she’s amazing. Much improvement in her face too. I’m going for number one; it still has color, but also a bit of the rain feeling in the sky.

Eagerly anticipating your next project.

Absolutely awesome Jester! My god, the skin on the upper torso is perfect! Love the concept and composition, beautifully realised.

My tiny problem is the grapes in her hand, they seem pale and lack translucence. It stands out because the other textures are unbelievable. The fur is fantastic, so too the wood and grass.

Congrats!

Thanks a lot folks, I really appreciate it!

About the grape, you are right, and I try to add some more translucency to the leafs as well, but I’m afraid of that all material will have SSS…only metals and the bark is not SSS…

Thanks comments a lot!

I think version 4 has the best lighting. 2 is quite good too. The grass could use some more work (slightly more color variation), but otherwise its a stunning image. 5 stars. :+1:

5

good stuff :+1:

Great design and execution. I’d go with the last one.

I voted for #5 but I rather like both 1 and 5. The variety and subtleties of the skin tones are fantastic.

I voted for #5 as well. Truly extraordinary work! I have been enjoying your wip thread a lot and am glad to see it finished. :+1:

The only thing that really bugs me about this final version, is the hair over her forehead. Something weird about it!?!?!?!

Hi Jester, it’s really cool to see this one finish :). Congrats man.
My fav is the 5th

Hey man grats on finishing.

I voted for number 4, the reason being the atmosphere of the clouds in the background. It looks as if it just rained, and or is still raining. 9 times out of 10 that means it will be darker outside.

However, you are loosing detail in the fourth image. Maybe theres a simple way to make the scene darker? Some photoshop tweaking perhaps?

Outstanding work, either way, I have kept on an eye on your WIP thread =) :+1:

I’m going with number 5. I just seems your losing too much detail in the darker renders. I love the pose. It’s very bold, almost baroque. Keep up the good work!

And once again, thank you all. I reached what I was attempting to…I’m so glad.

So, I’ll take the advices and put one more day into this image, so the grass, the stone, and the grape will be addressed. The grape was rendered like this because in our garden my father in law has grapes, and in the grape we have looks similar (since it’s not completely matured)

So thank you all, I hope this evening (this is morning here) I can post the final work.

Really nice. I remember this composition from a while ago. I wondered why it had been so silent. I see that it was from a good long final polish. All the renders are great, but #4’s colour scheme seems to parallel the mood of her face the best. Just my 2 cents. Cant wait for your next project.

Regards, James.:+1:

Beautiful. Its been a long time since I’ve seen work like this. Congrats. Top row all the way. That tree is fantastic. The grapes could use some more sss I feel. Anyway… :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Great work!
My favourite is number 5.
