Hello, ZBRushers,
finally he is alive! Fateh al Jelat - lord of Chaos and BUGmaster, the enemy of the Z-order. He was born by magic. You need about 40 meshes, 2 textures(metal and wood),some painting skills (to make hiZ servants (and some textures) in PShop and to put them as alfa&texture in the fog) and the magic Z-glue to paste your back to the chair for a week or two (at nights. ;). You can download a 1MB version from www.freedrive.com - username:moregottt, password: morgy, look into the “ZBR” folder.
You maybe are curious about the sculls below Fateh. I was having fun trying to understand how much I know about the human skull… well…hm… …this is almost everything. This is a compleatly ZBR image. Created the texture in “edit” mode with “zadd” switched off - you know - the usual method.
And having more fun
Fantastic and wonderful work Martin! The detail is quite astounding, from his absolutely cool battle axe to the tips of them neato pumpkin pokers (shoes)
The large version is just awe inspiring!
lots and lots and lots of s for that one, Martin! a true masterpiece… i’m especially impressed by the fog-ghosts but all the other details, modelling, textures and so on make my jaw drop, too. same goes for the wonderful skull. a first class job you did here! thank you mucho for sharing!

Well Hello Martin,
Absolutely magnificent image, dramatic lighting and brilliant choice of colors. The vaporous demons are the stuff of nightmares. I love the decay around the teeth of the skull.
Great work

FANTASTIC! work Martin .AWSOME!phantoms, how’z u do that florecent green dooder?
Hi, Ztevie,
I painted the ghosts in Photoshop using semi-transparent (about 4-10% pressure)airbrush,green(G=255 RGB colour) then blur tool and adding a transparent(25%) green filled(green=255) layer.
- Exported the default render of only the figure of Fateh&sculls as <image>.psd in Photoshop.
- Created a new layer and painted what I wanted (the ghosts) there.
- When I became satisfied saved a <…>.bmp image with only my new painted layer\layers on black background. This was my “texture” for the fog “texture” slot in “render” palette.
- I made a copy of this texture which was B&W (can use “CTRL+U” and set saturation to the lowest value in Photoshop, then “CTRL+L” for the contrast). This was my fog’s “alfa”
- Imported these images by clicking Texture\Import in ZBR and chose them in Render\Fog squares at its exact places.
- Put the fog’s curve at its higher horizontal level (in fact there are two depth values there which I modified but you can experiment with them and with the fog curve) and rendered the scene.
- Did from 3rd to 6th item about 6-7 times and that’s it.
Nice work!
I Just LOVE those spirits. GREAT work.
Totally Amazing !! --That’s gotta be a cover of a Sci-fi book someday!
Hi Martin . . .
Admirable creation there my friend, no holds barred in this image!
I envy people such as you that can sit for hours, days & even weeks sometimes, to create & complete an image such as yours. I can’t seem to keep myself motivated long enough to complete many of my past attempts at projects?
I really enjoy viewing an image such as yours. Have a good one . . . Mark.
I’m in total awe, Martin. Excellent, excellent work. Looks to me like LeDiscot, Adman and Southern need to start watching their tails – this is every bit as good as anything that I’ve seen created in ZBrush before. Or any CG work, for that matter.
i love it! i especilly the green monster thing how do you do that?
Since I’m pretty speechless about this one:
:+1: :+1: :grimacing: :grimacing:
I especially like the green “phantoms”. Nice use of the fog in conjunction with alpha.
BTW, I’m having trouble getting to the big version. I keep getting a message that the file couldn’t be found or someing.
Beautiful piece, Martin, especially the large pic, showing all those cool details. That IS the full original size, isn’t it?
Yes, Nikko, this is its original size with a little lack of quality.
Dom, you can read about how did I did the gosts in my previous post - somewhere above.
thanks i’ll try that
Neat image Martin!
The clothing on Al is fantastic. As is the ax and head. The crawly green stuff is neat too. Guess what? The skulls are nifty too.
Good modeling on everything.
Wow! I’ve got to admit the small picture just doesn’t give it any justice! Thanks for posting the big picture! (freedrive is a pain! It would be cool if you get a 15meg geocities account and post a link to it from here??)
Anyway I was blown away by the level of detail you’ve put into this. Well-done! Like Kruzr I couln’t imagine how you could work on one picture for more than one day! Nerves of steel!!
And I’ve got to admit that’s the best ZB skull I’ve seen to date! Is that two pieces or one?
Man, you’ve come a long way quickly!!
Upham
Thanks to everybody,
this was my last ZBR 1.13 work. I ran ZBR1.23b last night and saw a very different program. I was impressed.
A little remark about Fateh: the word “al” means that he is a son of Jelat, and “jelat” is turkish word which means “butcher” and if you translate his name it will be: Fateh the butcher’s son. The scull is a single 3D Sphere. I don’t use the “star” tool in 1.13 because I don’t like it. A lot of bugs there.
 Zee ya Zoon!
hey
