Hello all,
I have been super busy on a major project but I managed to find some time to continue my personal work. I thought I’d share it with you! Here is the new-much improved version of Sami’s girlfriend, now named “Fani The Fawn”. (30,404 polygons)
LOL! She started out as a clone of Sami’s original ZSphere shape (See this link on Sami for details)… I then added some edge-loops for the breast and mouth area to introduce more polys.
Finally I brought the mesh into Poser5 and rigged it. She is now fully poseable but I still have to paint her texture maps, make tons of Morph Targets and sculpt some clothes and hair for her.
Still lots more to come…
Thanks for looking,
Michael
Amigo…que bien!!! de nuevo por aqui…!!
excelente combinacion …solo espero un tutorial paso a paso de como integrar zBRUSH y poser …seria mucho pedir un PDF …?
Superb work! Pff rigging in poser, I tried it once but it’s like hell! I wait for the next update of ZBrush (Long Wait)
Wow, thanks for posting that. I have plans to do similar things. i.e. use poser to pose/reposition exising “medium” resolution meshes.
As was mentioned earlier, Poser is a bit difficult to work with at times. Can you tell us where it is you learned about rigging/posing in poser?
Thanks.
jotajota,
Thanks amigo,
I wish I had more time to write a tut for you… Be sure to check out this link
It is the same link I referred to at the beginning of this thread… it should enlighten you to the process. I will be sure to let you know if I ever find time to do a complete tutorial on the rigging process in Poser5.
Bas Mazur,
Thank you sir, true, Poser can be considered very rough to rig with compared to the high end packages… but then Maya isn’t exactly simple either. ;~)
billrobertson42,
Thank you for the comments… Poser is tough and there are few good resources out there. I have been using Poser since early 2000 and It has taken me a long time to master it. I taught it to myself for the most part through trial and error over the years. Here is the best resource that I know of for Poser enthusiasts:
Well, here is a render of Sami and Fani together… I just couldn’t wait to see it! LOL… time to work on getting those textures painted and those morph targets sculpted!
Take care,
Michael

Pushgetty…gracias por su respuesta
Hey, thanks for the link.
Very fun model and renders. Good job.
Dang ya did it again!! Great job on Fani the Fawn, Pusghetty!!
Ya do realize that the only solution is to keep using auv/guv tiles and get the customers to buy zbrush…right?
I can understand why they don’t dig it if they don’t have zbrush …makes it kinda hard to create your own textures in ps for sure.
Anyways …great job…I think you’re gonna dig the sss, ambient occlusion, and shadows in the next poser version…it’s gonna ramp up the zb/poser connection quite a bit I think.
For a creature that is missing some important part of his anatomy Sami seems to enjoy this newly created female. …PusGhetty
jantim
jotajota and billrobertson42,
My pleasure!
aminuts,
Thank you aminuts! I am definately looking forward to P6. I talked to one of the Poser developers last year when I was beta testing Z2. He said that they would try to implement the use of 16 bit high dynamic maps in the next version of Poser. (P5 cannot use 16-bit maps so true displacement is not possible in P5.) I hope they have addressed this issue.
jantim,
Thank you my friend,
Sami actually has morph targets that give him genatallia. I’m sure he will be using those morphs pretty soon! LOL
Best regards,
Michael
Hello Michael
Outstanding work as usual my friend. I dont get much time to keep up with everything but I do try to stop by the ZBC and see what there is to see. Great to see your fine work.

top row stuff for sure michael ?
been toying with poser myself for over a year now,but i dont
know if i like the renders, seems alot of detail(smoothing) is lost
during render and finding rigging with groups much harder
then skelogons in lightwave, any ideas? keep on my freind.
I like the style! Is it hard to set up .obj files in poser to use for animations?? i havent got quite that far yet in my project… thanks!
Mario and Pilou, thank you my friends!
Hey bro, thanks for the comments! Hahahahah! I appreciate it!
I just use Poser for making figures Poseable… most of my artwork and rendering is done in other programs usually. I am looking forward to the version6 upgrade though!
Thank you, It is not too difficult to set up the object… you need to group all the areas of the body. For example… group the neck, head, chest, right shoulder, left shoulder etc… on down the line until you have all the groups that will recieve bones. Every bone needs to have a group of polygons to associate with.
Also you might want to set up all your material zones before importing your object into Poser.
Hope this helps…
I modeled some clothes for her today and I’m quite satisfied… the drawstring was done using Zsphers with adaptive skinning. One outfit down a couple more to go!
Hi Michael,
great work and big knowledge about all this program
Bye
Leo
jotajota and Leo,
Thanks for the compliments!
Here is the latest, I made this outfit into conforming clothes and I sculpted some hair and made a smart prop out of it. The hair texture is only a sample texture to aid me in getting the uv’s aligned.
Again, no final textures have been made for this figure yet.
Best regards,
Michael
good, i like it! especially the teeth!
