Facet look in KeyShot render.

Make a object, import a object, does not matter.
Subdivide until machine gives up.
Send to KeyShot. render has totally faceted look.
If I can solve this one more problem, I am good.
Fingers crossed.
Thank you

This “object” is over 300,000.
It looks exactly like one at about 3000.
I deleted the lower res version, thinking that zbrush sends the lowest one.

If the object is imported directly into KeyShot (keyshot5 normal) this does not appear.
So.
Object on its own with a regular polygon count is imported into Keyshot…no facet.
Object is imported into Zbrush, and without doing anything faceted.
Object is cranked up and is still faceted

If you press “smooth normals” in the ZBrush Render >Render Propertieds menu before sending to keyshot, it should smooth the appearance of poly facets on low poly geometry.

However, if you’re subdividing sufficiently (it doesn’t take that much…medium poly counts are fine) you should really not be seeing any facets in Keyshot unless you’re extremely zoomed in, even without “Smooth Normals”.

It may have something to do with the material selected (perhaps you embedded a cavity matcap that really highlights facets…Try replacing the materials in Keyshot.), or perhaps you dynameshed a low poly object and it captured the facets, or perhaps the object in keyshot is not updating for you for some reason (I have this happen from time to time).

Many thanks Mr. Jackson, this is twice you have raised me up from the depths.(smooth normals)
I have never done a render in zbrush in 12 years of owning it
Brief explanation.
Most of you are going from Zbrush to KeyShot.
Due to a unique circumstance I am going from KeyShot to Zbrush.
Although I have had zbrush for about 12 years do not use it as frequentlly as
I should have. Am paying the price now.
After spending many hours adapting, was left with two problems which you have solved expertly.
Transition is now complete.
Brief note, I owe you, if I can ever repay PM me

No problem. Im just concerned that you’re seeing facets on a well subdivided object. It really shouldn’t require you to use Smooth Normals…that’s more for low poly stuff.

I HAVE ARRIVED…
Works great!!!
At my age won’t have children, but I would have named one after you (Bingo?)
You have no idea how much you have helped.
You may confidently tell the other forum members you were responsible for
getting rid of me.
Done.
