F* polypaint/geometry/layer problem ?!

OK!!! I really dont know how to name this thread, so here is what the fokin problem is…
Ive banged my head for the last couple of hours on this dumb ass thing and i am really pissed!

Here what it is, all the 4 points from the image above.

  1. This is my obj with polypaint at the highest level.
/by some reason, a dont know what it is, the polypaint went… freaky  This never happened to me, untill today so i figure that it might be from the god damn stupid new layers and this moronish REC button/option, so i BAKE ALL and we go to …
  2. After i Bake all the layer, this black 8bit sexiness happens!
/Then i decide, ok man… press undo, export the model, fix the UVs … coz, maybe something there is the problem, import it again in ZB and it will all be fine. I do that and then we go to nubmer 3./
  3. The brand new UVs. the same problem with polypainting.
/After this didnt happen i thought, well it might be a problem from some of the layers… Lets turn off the REC mode and see…/
  4. after i turn off the REC mode… !!!

WTF is the problem, please somebody give some help here!
My guess is that the guys at Pixo messed thing bad somewhere and i gotta wait for R1  But i might be wrong so i post this thread!

When i try to delete the layers, turn visibility off or something at all, the problem with the mesh happens.
This happens only on this subtool!!! All the other 53subtools are fine, with polypainting, layers, obj without UVs/with UVs… no problem.
By some reason, this subtool gone seriously messed up and i dont know where or why!

Can somebody tell me how to delete the polypainting from the subtool without deleting the mesh details ?! Ill polypaint it again, no problem - practice makes perfect! you know…
But i cant get rid of polypainting… If i bake it Number 2 happens and then if i try to fill the subtool with color… those artefact’s stay and i cant get rid of them!

Thank you for your attention and patience for reading this thread!

OK, no one know… nevermind.
At least can anyone tell me how to remove the polypainting only, from the subtool ?

I’m sorry you are having problems.

(1) I don’t know what the problem is here. I will mention this issue to the development team.

(2) Probably happened because you used Bake All while still in Record mode.

(3) UVs have nothing to do with polypaint, so they won’t make any difference.

(4) When changing the UVs it looks like you changed the vertex order.

To get rid of all polypaint, go to the highest level, select white (or another color) and press Color>Fill Object. Rgb should be on and Rgb Intensity set to 100.

NOTE: you might also like to test the mesh for that subtool: press Tool>Geometry:Check Mesh.

Thanks for the response!
Mesh checks out fine! No problems…
And i cant figure out what is the problem. When i try to turn off REC mode on the layer, or switch to other layer, or turn off visibility or something… number 4 occurs.
When i made the UVs again, no vertexes were added, moved or something…
:frowning:

Really dont know what to do. When i try to fill the object with color, it fills it but has those same 8bit glitches shown on number 2 up there.
:frowning:

First back up your model, in case you want to return to it!

You could try deleting the layer while in Record mode. This should simply remove it completely. You can then start again.

Or you could try this:

  1. With the subtool selected and at the highest subdivision level, press the Tool>Make Polymesh3D button. A new version will be created without any subdivision levels or layers.

  2. You should be able to get the subdivision levels back by pressing Tool>Geometry>Reconstruct Subdiv.

  3. Append this as a subtool to your original model and delete the problem subtool.

I’ve seen it several times before, enough to be scared to death of layers.

I avoid them now.

Hopefully they will be fixed immediately.

Layers are terrible in 4 IMO. Buggy, and odd ui (record button etc)
