SO i’m making a hero from the game called league of legends its not yet complete lights and materials left and pose so what do you think?
I like the last close up. It has fresh translucent feel to it.
Why don´t you try adjust the pose. Put some angle in the torso, neck, legs and arms.
Maybe more expression to the face too.
It could really breath some life in to the character. Now it looks a little stiff.
Try to break the symmetry even more.
Anyways good job.
its all progressing nicely! I would next perhaps add a little more texture. This will blend the colors more in the clothing and the skin. For the skin, add some light vein work and some slight skin blushing. This will make the character feel more realistic. Maybe change the lighting some, perhaps the current brightness intensity washes out the character to much, Reacting badly with the pale complexion of his skin. Already looks better than the pixelated L.O.L. version. I love the Mystical energies!
Is that rendered in Zbrush?
Hi fellow League player
It’s not a bad start, but there are definitively some things that could be improved:
- The facial anatomy looks strange, we can’t see very much the bone landmarks in his face. His nose and lips looks strange too. Adding an expresion would be nice too.
- If I recall correctly in the 2D art his hair was more white, you should probably stick to it since it adds some contrast. Also try brushing his hair so they are a bit less in his face.
- As the other said, his pose is really stiff and could be more dynamic.
- I dont feel like the glove on his right and has a thickness, it looks more like a simple texture was applied on the hand.
That’s all I can see. Keep it up!
P.S. It may seem like shameful publicity, but I’m also sculpting a League of Legends champion right now (Renekton). If you have the time take a look!
Nothing wrong with talking about your own model here. This is ZBC, where else would you talk about it eh?
you rush into detail and texturing way too soon. You need to focus more on the foundation of the model. The facial anatomy is non existing. Even if you are going after the japanese anime style, your character still need to have teh correct anatomy. Where are all the boney landmarks? How about those major muscle groups that wraps around the face? Cheek bone? The brows? shape of the lips? the size of the nose?
The cloths are still in block in stage, you shouldn’t add textures and alpha on it this soon. Wrinkles? Folds?
Fibre is probably the worst thing Zbrush added lately, not because that it’s not awesome, but because it often distract people from working on their models. Do NOT add fibres on your model unless you get your basic model to certain level. Fibre should be one of the last thing you add to your model.
Do not pose your model that soon too… Leave it at its neutral pose until you are done with it.
There are some nice things about your works tho. You have the ability to create all your base mesh, and you understand how to texture and composite your works. As soon as you can slow down and focus on refining your works such as giving your models the correct believable anatomy, you will be a pretty good modeler.
Not many people are criticing people’s works nowaday in zbc… I hope i didnt come out too harsh and piss you off. You have some really good potential. Keep it up and good luck!
thanks somehow you gave me a lesson ^^ the problem with me is that i cant wait to see the last results and i do it as fast as i can, total hours of work on this is 8 hours, how much hours would you spend to make a model like this one? thanks for your reply realy helpfull
yes its rendered in Zbrush
sure sure if you want to be all boring and all. 8-P Just kidding man. in many ways your right. On the other hand when someone is just starting to learn modeling, there is no harm in going to fast. You do not want bore yourself too early with every single detail. It’s good to have a completed project. It will give him something to build upon in his next piece. Having finished a project will give him a feeling of completion. Dose Elesar realize that the model is not topnotch complete? I’m sure he dose. To get this far is great. He could call this piece done. Start a new project and refine his next sculpt more.
Not all of us are art Students who have been taught to defend our work too a group of our Peers. Not all of us even agree with that practice. Some think it belittling and harsh. Some of us enjoy Art for art’s sake. I am not saying your criticisms are off base or too harsh; just use a grain of salt when you give them. try not to be overly preachy; try to give give settle tips. Remember that your opinions are just that… an Opinion. what is real to you, is the way you see real.
With time He will improve. If you are familiar with L.O.L. you would see how much farther he has taken the character visually. IMHO RIOT designs their characters too cartoony. I’m sure his next rendition will be that much better.
I was curious, how did you get that flame of energy on the hand? is that Photoshop post effect or was that also done in Zbrush? I love it and would love to do something like it as well. What was your process for that?
The flame was created in photoshop here i have a video wich i create him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay1E1SB4B9E&list=UUdyKrnclZouggE6hqZCLIXQ&index=1&feature=plcp
thanks man!
