Extending Your Mesh

Hey everyone

I’m working on a human female head at the moment - And I’d like to model the rest of the body once I’m done with the head.

How can I model the rest of the body and “attach” it to the head mesh, so that they will both be a single mesh?

Thanks in advance!
Cat

Hi Cheshire Cat,

you need to append it as a subtool.
Save your body basemesh as a ztl.
Load your Head ztl.
Go in subtool palette and click append and select your body.

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately I don’t think that this would solve my problem; Having both meshes as part of the same tool will still leave “seams” where the head and the body are supposed to connect.

Is there a way to “truly attach” them together, making them a single mesh with no visible line separating them? Or can I only solve this by smoothing said line in some photo editing program.

Do as Christian Michelin said and use if you need the clay brush to minimize the seam. Or the other solution is to do a retopology of all your model.

Alright, thank you, both of you

do all the vertices match? If so you could use subtool master to merge them. Export that. Then under the import options at the bottom of the Tool Subpalette move the weld slider all the way over and import. Now both meshes will be welded together so you can sculpt across the surface and have no seem.

Thanks, I really was looking for this solution. Thanks
