Exporting zbrush movie for macs

Uh have zbrush 3.12, and recorded a turntable movie, and it is now a zmv file. Question how do I export it as a mov. file.

That’s not possible in 3.12 or 3.12B. You could use Jing to screen capture the turntable.

thank u, even though i can’t export. Jing worked out fine, thank u again for the help.

Hello Aurick
I am a Freelance 3D organic modeling artist
I have finally acquired my ZBrush tools for Mac V 3.12b
I require a simple way to convert my ‘turntable’ presentations as QT files for my clients.
I wish to commission my programer to create such a file conversion utility (.ZMV to .mov)
Can you please provide me with the file format specification for .ZMV?
I am happy to make the utility freely available to all Mac ZB users via the Telegraphics free software site

MalcolmT,

I would expect QT export to be included in a future update to ZBrush for Mac OSX. In the meantime you could use the Turntable Plus plugin (available from the Downloads Center) to render an image sequence. This image sequence could then be loaded into a program such as Quicktime Pro for output as a MOV file.

The ZMV format is a proprietary format.

Hello Marcus
Thank you for the helpful and useable (if somewhat clumsy) ‘Image sequence’ workaround suggestion.
Many of us ‘… would expect QT export to be included in a future update to ZBrush for Mac OSX …’ and hopefully in the not too distant future.
cheers
Malcolm

Hello, I am running on zbrush 3.2 on a mac. On http://www.pixologic.com/zbrushMac/ it says “Movie creator with turntable capability and Quicktime export” but I can only see that I can save a timelapse or turnable to .zmv file. Should I be able to export to a quicktime and am I missing something or is this feature not available? I agree that exporting an image sequence is helpful, but quite clumsy. Thanks.

Direct export of the movie has never been an option in the zbrush 3.xx versions for OS X, only for windows. The only options are to export an image sequence using the Turntable Plus plugin or use a screen capture program.

Richard

Thanks Richard. Hopefully it will be back in 3.5 release.

I just tried to save a turntable render, as I usually just watch then delete them… I too couldn’t find a way to export a movie that isn’t a ZMV on the Mac ZB.

I really would appreciate the ability to export my turntable movies on the Mac side of ZBrush(3.2). :frowning:
