Exporting zbrush art as OBJ file, unable to open OBJ files.

Hi,
Can anyone please help with following:

  1. How can I post an example of my work onto ZBrush forum?

2)I have exported screengrabs from ZBrush to both pictures and documents on my laptop,as OBJ and other file types.
Previously I was able to open these files with a programme called allsee(the free trial now expired on this).
I need to get a free,(not free trial period),programme that can open these files.I have had problems doing this and there is a risk of downloading a virus. Please can anyone advise on this?

Thanks,
David

Images can be uploaded in several formats. You can get Blender which will open your obj…

Hi,Thanks Doug Jones,
If I get blender will I be able to export images from Blender to my PC,so that they can be emailed.
Thanks,David L

If you want pictures of your Zbrush work I would recomend to use Dokument-Export instead of Tool-Export. The OBJ file format is a simple data-format that represents 3D geometry alone.

Hi,Thanks stone3d,

I useddocument export to my pictureson laptop, then printed picture, then scanned it,(this allowed me to convert it to jpeg file), and saved it again-then I have uploaded it here, hence the poor picture quality.

I am new to Zbrush, after years of trying with clay am starting to improve slowly.IMGagain.jpg

You can save yourself some ink and some time by exporting jpg’s directly from zbrush. When the file dialogue window appears asking you to name the file, you just have to switch the file type from .PSD to .JPG

Thanks,Cryrid,

I was able to export from ZBrush but the problem has been finding a programme to open the jpg`s.

I would think any operating system created within the last 15 years would handle jpgs without any problem (if you’re on a computer that can run zbrush, you probably have at least 5 programs capable of opening a jpg, if you’re using a web browser to read this then you’re using one even now)
