Exporting to Photoshop

Hi there - im new to all this and have my first zbrush character concept that id like to export to photoshop to add text and things, but when i export the sculpt as a photoshop file, it is a small 1.97MB size and low resolution when I get it into photoshop (and at only 72 pixels per inch when i like to work to 300 usually) - surely there is a way to enlarge the design to A4 size and retain the quality? All of the image saving articles ive read seem to produce small low res images for use on the web.

I tried one solution which involved changing the document size, but all this did when I opened it in photoshop was to create a bigger canvas around the design, with the actual work being of the same poor resolution once id cropped away the extra canvas.

Any help ???

Easy enough, just know that ZBrush will only export at 72ppi. A4 is 210x297mm, so just set up a new A4 document in Photoshop at 300ppi. Go to Image>Resize and take a look at the dimensions in pixels. That’s the size you want to set your document at in ZBrush. Once you have it set, hit the double button. Doubling the document size ensure that when you bring the image into PS and scale it down 50% you wont get any nasty jaggies.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I seem to be on the right path now, but have a question:

I positioned the model to how i wanted with the shoulders cropped below the white border in the zbrush canvas - yet when i increase the document size and export it to photoshop, the whole model is shown and very small within the canvas - its as if the canvas size has been increased but not the design itself - am i doing something wrong here?
