So, this is my very first post to this site so if there is already something in this forum about this just let me know. Also, I am new to the ZBrush software and Cinema 4D software as well. I’ve been viewing some tutorials on modeling and there’s just one thing I feel like I’m missing. I want to create a mecha character in zbrush, helmet, body armor, etc. And I want to export it to Cinema 4D and use that programs materials to put a nice shine on the metal. I’m just wondering if I export the model, posed and everything, into C4D would I be able to color the individual pieces of the armor or would C4D treat the whole model as one piece?
If you have different polygroups for the different parts of your mesh and Tool > Export > Grp (Export Sub Groups) is enabled (on by default) then, yes, the polygroups will be exported (Tool > Export) as seperate.
