Exporting Objects and keep their Materials

Is there a way to export a wavefront object from Zbrush made up of several subtools layers and
keep their individual textures? I have made a jewelry object in Zbrush and I want to open it in DAZ Studio
and view it with all its textures. Thanks, in advance.

You can use the Tool>SubTool>Merge Visible button to merge subtools together. Make sure that the UV option is turned on, so that the UVs are preserved. Depending on your requirements you may want to also turn on Weld.

For the texture maps, you will need to export these separately from ZBrush (from your original model) and then apply them in DAZ Studio.

There is a ZBrush GoZ plugin for DAZ Studio, provided by DAZ, but this will transfer subtools as separate objects.

Now when I import the merged object with UVs into Daz, it is just one object and I am unable to apply textures to its different parts(Subtools). When applying a texture, it gets applied to everything, and there are no individual material layers. I am able to use GoZ and send each individual subtool separately and each gets imported with its own assigned texture. But that is pretty time consuming. Is there something I am missing? Even if the textures do not come through from ZBrush, I would like to be able to apply textures to an object that has different material layers that I can change in DAZ.

I´m not DAZ user but i guess as other GoZ apps will export the Mesh with all textures applyed on each mesh. If want to export all the subtools just press the All Button next to the GoZ. Or you can just export the Visible subtools too with the Visible button.

Thanks this helps tremendously. I love the GoZ button!
