Exported Zbrush OBJ looks different in Maya

Hey guys I’m extremely new to Zbrush and I’m getting this very frustrating problem…

I’ve imported an OBJ to Zbrush, subdivided it, sculpted it etc in order to create a displacement map for Maya. I saved this as a Ztool and exported the model as an OBJ.

However when I open this OBJ back up in Maya, it looks different to the lowest subdivision level and morph target in Zbrush! (It looks like an older version of my model)

Is there someway to make these match up again? Its the one OBJ file that looks different in two programs! I am so confused and frustrated with this.

Here are the proper steps for creating a displacement map that you’ll use in another app:

  1. Import your model.
  2. Store a morph target.
  3. Divide and detail.
  4. Return to level 1.
  5. Switch to the stored morph target.
  6. Create the displacement map and export that.
You do not need to export the model again. The map will be accurate for your original model that you exported from Maya to begin with.

Thanks Aurick for your reply  I actually figured out what was wrong smacks head

I had to turn on persp under the draw menu… So that Zbrush would match Maya’s perspective view.

It took me ages of pulling hair out to figure out that tiny thing! Ahh being a noob is such fun.
