export zbrush materials to maya ?

Is it possible to export to maya a .ma file that will also include some of the cool zbrush shaders/matterials ?

I have been able to export .ma files but my Maya 2011 will not import the zbrush .ma file that zbrush makes. Does anyone know why ?

Materials are instructions to the rendering engine, telling it what to do with light that reaches the surface of your object. Because each rendering engine is different, materials are incompatible between them. You can’t take a material from ZBrush to Maya any more than you could from Maya to C4D.

(That being said, ZBrush has MatCap which lets you create a light map in another package and apply that to a special material in ZBrush so that your material in ZBrush looks as much as possible like what you started with in the other program. But that’s a ZBrush feature. I don’t believe Maya has anything like that.)
