Export texture and material?

I have created a gun that has a red texture over a metalic surface material. In ZBrush they look really cool. Exporting the red map is no problem, but is it possible to export the material or combine the red and the metalic material and export the result to be used in 3DS Max?

Material is a set of instructions for the rendering engine. Because each program’s rendering engine is different, the materials can’t go back and forth between them. ZBrush materials make no more sense to Max than Max materials make to C4D.

There are ways to create channels in ZBrush for specular, reflective, and other maps. You can read more about this in the Texturing part of the FAQ here at ZBC. But it’s still up to you to understand what your rendering engine can support and to know how to apply those maps in that engine.
