Is there a way to export fibermesh as obj using the pre vez amount? my original fibermesh contains too many for what I need it for at render time in maya.

The only way I’ve found is to mask then delete fibers you don’t need.
Mask random ones with a alpha brush like attached, then pick “tool->polygroups->group masked”, isolate the group (ctrl+shift click), then pick “tool->geometry->delHidden”

ahh there we go, now why didnt I think of that.
Would still be nice to use the pre viz amount though, since it does a nice job of averaging the distribution.
Just found out that the Pre vis setting is used when using “Export Curves”. If you find a maya addon that imports those curves, that should work too.
