When I export my document as a PS file…is there a way to make that PS file carry an alpha channel of my tool?

yes…and no.
if you do an alpha grab that will work
alpha>grabDoc
then export that out as well and use it as your channel
or you can render the whole object on black background
render out a still with a solid white (flat color material)
export out that and use it as a mask
You can also use Zapplink will has a native mask built in as well.
