More Shadowbox play except that this time I decided to make a custom menu that effectively makes a kind of separate working environment solely for shadowbox work.
Little tip for airbrush painting in ZBrush - set your standard brush to rgb , use the gradient alpha , set the stroke mode to drag rectangle and set your brush scale to dynamic so you can get really big sizes needed for smooth gradients.

Freudian analysis of my latest image post would most probably place my mental age at somewhere between 3- 6 years old. Iām happy with that and feel I have matured considerably.
Coyote John, a good tip that might help you achieve the results you are looking for is to find a matcap to sculpt in ZBrush that contains the essence of the lighting quality you require in your final render and sculpt accordingly to the essence of the light. Another good tip is to have lighting presets and lighting variations saved and recalled in ZBrush that will help guide your sculpting when checking your work when using standard materials.
Practicing scene rendering lighting solely in black and white i.e free of any surface texturing or any such technical concerns that might muddy your perceptions of the tonal gradations is good training
Finally a tip is to use ZBrushās āView Blurā facility to check your lighting. View Blur is the equivalent of an artist squinting through the slits of their eyes to judge tone and not detail. To utilise View Blur > Render Menu>Render Properties >View Blur (set this to hotkey by pressing cntrl+alt followed by your hot key combination >set hot key ) The Blur amount is set in BPR RenderPass Menu > VBlur Radius .

Being that is is the season for spheres, my Sculptris Pro first test .
ZBrush 2018 and Keyshot.
Below are my initial notes that I jotted down from my first play with Sculptris Pro mode, perhaps they may be useful to some.
Avoid the the temptation to get stuck in Sculptris Pro mode - to get drawn in to detailing makes global adjustments harder as the work progresses. As great as Sculptris Pro mode is remember subdivisions and why they are useful for bigger design changes.
Use the traditional brushes to their strengths in combination with Sculptris Pro
Think about sculptris for fast volume creation and things it does that exceeds the traditional brushes in performance, behaviour and creative freedom- noses being one.
Convert medium detail Sculptris Pro sculpts to Zremeshed meshes to avoid surface chatter - add Sculptris Pro details only when design adjustments are finalized.
If you use Sculptris Pro for volume builds and medium detail sculpts you donāt need to get hung up about switching out of Adaptive mode if you intend to convert to ZRemesh . When youāre ready to add final tighter details with Sculptris Pro , Adaptive mode again is fine.
Finessing polygon distribution by switching out of Adaptive mode to manual settings is largely a wasted discipline if you intend to convert your medium detail sculpts to Zremesh.

Nice! It is very cool that you set things up in Keyshot to produce results that have your style. Most renders one finds from the ZBrush to Keyshot workflow tend to look generic. But not in your case! ^-^
And thank you very much for sharing your notes @boozy , on the new Sculptris Pro mode, canāt wait to put that to use, haha, Iāve gotta wait a bit for traffic to settle before I download the upgrade though.
