I try to import a low poly model tht I made in Maya (only one half) just for testing. And when I try to import I get an error:
“This mesh contains 9 nonstandard polygons that have more then 4 sides”.
Any workflow appreciated
Thanks

Speaking from my experience …
ZBrush only handles quad polys correctly
Ngons get either translated to holes in the mesh or sometimes ZBrush seems to try to reshape the ngon to quads and tris.
Now if you have a model layed out for texturing and bring it into ZBrush the above mentioned mechanics will corrupt your UV layout unless the model was built with quads only.
Maybe there are tricks and workarounds (e.g. going over your mesh in pre-uv and splitting all ngons into tris and quads by hand) but if you actually want to stay productive try to keep the model 100% quads … a tri here and there seems ok but no ngons!
hope this helped
Yeah, ZBrush doesn’t like N-Gons. Quads AND tris are oka. Even a mix of both, though you might have some mesh kinks when subdividing.
Bad N-Gons!..Bad!!!
Thanks guys. That’s clear enough
