Error No GL_EXT_texture_env_dot3 support!

When i click on my zmapper i get this error message: No GL_EXT_texture_env_dot3 support! and then when it goes into the zmapper state i get this message: GL_INVALID_ENUM: and it wont go away when i click ok or try to close it out!

I’ve never encountered this before and the message wont go away it stays up there and then i have to end the program and restart zbrush!

If anyone knows why this is happening please help!!

Im not sure if I installed it wrong or what!

What type of video card do you have? Pretty much everything out there that can run ZBrush should have DOT3 support. Are your drivers up to date?

Hey Stalsby, ZMapper requires OpenGL support. Can you verify that your drivers are up to date and that you have a graphics card with Open GL support.

Ryan

I have a Dell machine with Dell E197FP on intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family. This is the machine I use at work!

I’m not exactly sure If the drivers are up to date or if they have open GL support, I couldn’t find anything on the net pertaining to this!

How can I find out if I have open GL support?

I’m updating all the drivers and gonna restart and try z mapper again! hopefully this will work!

Thanks for your help!!

Well, I updated all the drivers and I’m still getting the error! I guess my video card doesn’t support open gl after all!

Your video card supports OpenGL, just not that extension… That’s an onboard (and pretty terrible) video chipset… I’d recommend dropping 100 bucks or so on something halfway decent

the thing that sucks is, i’m getting the same error, and i have a tablet pc.
i have no damn choice but to use this POS graphics chipset.

anyone have any idea if there’s some kinda way it can emulate this openGL support? am i going to have to do all of this on my main machine instead of my tablet? cuz that’s a pain in the ass =\

Runegod, which tablet PC are you using or more to the point, what graphics chipset is inside?

sorry for not stating that
it’s an HP TC4200 , and the chipset is an Intel 910GM/915 family chipset

You could try updating your drivers using the files from the Intel website. Graphics card drivers for laptops are notorious for being out of date and not being updated by the laptop manufacturer. For my tablet PC I have to go to a third party site to get my NVidia drivers because Toshiba are still supplying / recommending old NVidia drivers.

I am not sure which OpenGL extensions ZMapper requires, I have a feeling OpenGL 1.5 is the minimum your graphics card should support. Your chipset seems to support 1.4. But give the Intel drivers above a go, at your own risk of course

hmm if you’re talking about the graphics driver for my tablet, i always keep my drivers updated to the most very recent, … and the latest update didn’t fix anything.
