Erm...

Is this me just being away from the game too long, or is Zbrush becoming as inaccessible as the old software it replaced? When I first got to Zbrush, it was a breath of fresh air - no 10 volume manual needed, things worked like you’d expect them to on real-world clay. Natural. I took to it like a fish to water.

It’s still one hell of a piece of software, but it’s getting overly technical. There has got to be a way to represent everything more naturally.

If you’re going to make a post like this, you may want to cite some examples.

There are some aspects of Zbrush I find complicated, but I can’t recall them being any simpler in 2.0, and I still find the basic functions quite intuitive.

OK, a simple example: cutting a hole. Here’s how: http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Topology:_Mesh_Editing

Does this resemble, at all, how you’d visualize doing it? Even an icon of a cube with a hole in it would be better. I’m not interested in the mechanics, most of the time. I just want to sculpt and paint. Get the software out of my face.
