Hey everyone,
Well here is a different shot of the guy, as well as a wip pic from zbrush. I used zbrush for, sculpting, and texturing and photoshop, Max and Softimage for the rest. I still hope you enjoy it. Thanks.

Wow, this is great. Love the render
the hair (especially the beard) needs a lot of love, but that skin…just wow
Overall its a power piece. I’m looking forward to seeing this finished
Really great!!!
just more wort at the hair and fur…
Congrats!!!
I absolutely do like it. Amazing job man. Could you share the textures how you did the hair and some wire frame shots. That would be really great.
Thanks for sharing
how on earth did you get all those details from those maps?
oh it seems that you didn’t use sss on your material, right? because I’m really struggling to achieve something good with the sss shader.
Eiad - Well the maps are 4k, and I rely a lot in the bump map and diffuse. I did use the Vraysss2, and I am still learning it as well. Alrighty, once again thanks.

This character was lots of fun. I even created a backstory for him and i already had an idea of the mood and lighting i wanted to go for. I learned a lot of new things and hopefully the next character i make will be better.
At this point all i wanted to do was to get the main shapes in as fast as possible. To see how they were working.
Some strong lighting I was exploring with different colors and seeing how the materials were reading.
Though I knew it was only going to be a still image I still wanted to have some decent geo. It makes my life easier.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love this thread since i can go back all the way to when i was a student in school and scroll through time and see the progress all the way till now, It really keeps me grounded and motivated. My apologies for the long post. but i hope you guys and gals enjoyed my work. Any comments or critiques will be used to improve on my next piece so I thank you in advance for such kindness. I’ll keep working hard to keep growing as an artist. Have a nice day.
All the work is awesome but my hands down favorite is the young pilot #136! This one is Top Row material in my book. it is elegant and thought provoking!
cheers,
David
Great work ! I love that guy !
Could you share more experience of your working ! I think I could learn from yours . And , have a nice day .
Awesome work, i like.
chalkman - Thanks a lot man. I’m glad you like that guy. He was fun to make.
Ray’s spirit - Hey thanks for your comment. Would like me to talk about my experience making this guy, or my working in the industry experience? let me know I’ll glad answer you.
Philuxius - Thanks man, if you like, i like.
i like your latest character. I saw the reference and its pretty damn close to it. One problem i have though is that i dont like the dust(?) its a little overdone i actually prefer the render in your work in progress where you could see the archway and had a wider crop and it had a more naturalistic lighting/skin. Good work nonetheless.
Dagoned - Thanks for the reply , you are so kind. I’m an amateur of ZBrush so I think your skills of making such amazing work are of great value for me , if your don’t mind.
I’m looking foreward to your works. Keep sculping , and keep fun !
gyarados - Hey Thanks a lot for your comment man. I’m trying to slowly move into creating an interesting image not only a cool model and I think like you said i probably over did it. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future pieces man. Thanks.
Ray’s spirit - My friend having fun is the most important part of what we do. I saw your work, keep at it man. Start small, buy a couple of anatomy books and just study it day in and day out. In no time will start seeing results.
Thanks guys.
Looks great in my opinion. Very nice model and a solid render.
You nailed it!
your work is amazing…keep at it small_orange_diamond
