Eraser brush for modeling?

Hello,

I am learning ZBrush for a few months now and from time to time I face the following modeling problem: after some sculpting on a model, I am not pleased with what I’ve done so I would like to revert a part of the model to its initial state.
Is there an eraser brush to do so?

So far I haven’t found it  So what I do is I kind of flatten or clean the area as best as possible with a smooth brush, but usually it leads to something quite far from the original mesh and eventualy I have troubles with exports, UVs and so…

Thanks for your help

Before you start sculpting, store a morph target. You can then use the Morph brush to selectively revert parts of the model back toward the stored state. In this case the Z intensity setting determines how quickly the brush will morph the model back.

I’ve often found that I want to delete information from higher subdivisions on parts of a model. To do that, I just mask out the area where I want to lose the detail, go to the lowest subdivision level that I want to keep, and click Reproject Higher Subdiv. That keeps the detail on the unmasked area while treating the masked area as if you had deleted the higher subdivisions and re divided the mesh.

Thanks very much for those replies.

Morph targets and projections are 2 techniques I’ve heard about but I don’t master so far. I’ll check that.
