Eoin Cannon - Sketchbook (nudity)

very unique character.i like it !

Coool, really nice work, I love it

There is just one thing that bugs me. The beard does not look like long hairs but a “tail”, a furry chin tail. Looks awkward.

Fantastic concept, keep it up.

Oh, dude, I am laughing out loud here! This is awesome!

Great work. The texturing and lighting really came out nice. i just looked up the concept its based on, and your model captures it perfectly. The only thing that really sticks out i the “chin tail” look of the beard like ichiban said. But that could be a really funny concept for a future character.

Really nice! Great texturing too, but the head texture looks a litte bit to “clean”. I’m missing some color on his head like you did on his knees. Try to put a bit more red color or some veins on his head and his face, to make him more alive.
Just my two cents.

Very cool character! :+1:

Awesome! I didn’t think I’d say this twice over the course of one week, but this Cohen reproduction is just that. PERFECT  I love the old man, I love the stories, and love Kidby’s illustrations. Spot on, and honestly: Thank You!

Well you did a fantastic job on the “other stuff”, the render is beautiful. Great work, I really like everything about it. :+1:

I look forward to seeing more of your works.

damn ! great character, I love this fur and bricks  :+1:

Thanks again guys
Im glad that there are some Discworld fans around that can get some enjoyment out of the piece.

Ichiban & OctoBoom - I agree with you about the beard looking like a tail. My problem is that 3DSMax hair and fur seems to have a limit on how many segments a strand of hair can have. So if I have long continuous hairs, they dont have enough segements to look like wiry beard hairs, so I had to hack it a bit.

Train22 - True, I think the detail on the face is lost a bit in the wide shot. It looks a bit better close up. Something to remember for the next model I think.

This is a render of a sculpt I have been working on in my spare time for a few weeks. It was sculpted in ZBrush and rendered in mental ray for 3ds max with a displacement map. It’s an African Rhino. It was heaps of fun to do and a good opportunity to learn more about displacement maps and using alphas in zbrush. I went for more of a stylised render rather than try for realism
