Elongated Alien.

Hi guys, this is a rear shot of an alien I made in Zbrush. This is the shot from the rear. the alien is actually quite long so I will eventually have to enclose a long image for his render ( for hi res evaluating ) This was all rendered in BPR and processed additionally with some photoshop.

Here’s the deal, image 1 is the basic shade. Image 2 is what I’d like to include somehow. (translucency of the skin ) and 3 is kind of a mix of both, still trying to figure out what to make translucent and opaque.

Thanks for your time.

second render is very interressing you can say more? plz

hey kilik128,

what info are you interested in particular. I have never consistantly posted on any of these cg related forums so I don’t know what people would want to know.

what I can tell you-

On the shader for the translucency,

its one of the fresnel related shaders. this can be used together or seperately. ( say a blue shaded render and a fresnel falloff render ) and the effect can be made using post and layers.

when the base render ( gray )and the translucent render ( that has been tweaked with the fresnel render) are in photoshop you get this. I’d have to see what blending mode i used for it by looking at the original PSD before I can say with confidence what I did exactly. Anyway, thats how I got it to look that way. This can also be done if u use the fresnel as a mask in photoshop.

The main problem so far is that the model loses alot of features that you see in the image 1, the basic render )

Hope this clears some things up.

Really like the blue Matcap

@ Interu2x - Thanks man

Keep it going bro - Would love to see the full model.:+1:
