Elena

What’s going on guy. I wanted to share a character that i’m working on. She was created with 3DS Max an ZBush. I’m trying to keep the character slightly cartoonish but she needs something. Can someone take a look and let me know what I could add to make her stand out better. elenatest.jpg All advice is welcomed.

I decided to start over (I kept the hair). I think this second model looks better but she needs some work. Tell me what you think. All advise welcomed.

great restart!

if i could give any crits it would be the size and shaping of the muscles.

unless your going for a stylised build, the legs are a bit too wide/big, especially compared to the rest of the bodies proportions.

rather than describe in words, i thought it’d be easier to just draw what i mean below, hope you dont mind.

its looking great either way, keep it up.

Awsome! thanks for the advice; this will only make me better. Your right I was trying for a more stylized / cartoon look. I made those adjustments you suggested, and I was thinking of changing the designs on the suit (I was learning how to use the new mask tools so I was just playing around). Thanks for the comments; they were very helpful.

I decided to make a partner for my first character (another WIP ). I need to fix the boots and tighten up the wrinkles in her jacket but tell me what you think so far.

This is looking great! Choc Thunder’s advice was spot on, really helped bring back the ‘slinky’ look you had in the first pics (which were xlnt btw!).
I’d think about giving her back that plunging waist line at the top of the pants in the first pics too.

Also I’m finding the feet a tiny bit clunky, now that she’s gotten more ‘real’. Feet are very important in creating this kind of female figure. Perhaps you’ve become a little indecisive about whether she’s gonna have a stylised, 'manga-ish’look or a ‘real’ look. I’m thinking go one way or the other, bigger head, longer arms, tiny feet, or more ‘correct’ proportions. Either way keep at it, this has great potential! :+1:

thx spalsh, and yeh this is looking a whole lot better dude well done!

Thanks for the comments. I need to make some more adjustments to both. I have a couple more character that will be posted (after I finish these two). Thanks for the advice guy. I need all the help I can.

Another WIP. I was just practicing some basic sculpting.

I bit of advice would be to change the colour of your zbrush workspace from the default to a light grey as it’s really hard to crit on a really dark image

Thanks for the advice. bikern1.jpg

There is a definite improvement in your work but there’s one thing that lets them down and that is detail, detail in the sculpting and detail in the texturing

Thanks again. I didn’t start the details yet and the textures was actually put on prematurely. I was coming up with a few color experiments. The main thing I was worried about was the overall shape and size. More eyes are better than one. I have a lot of work to do on her (mainly the body and face) . I kept playing around with my other models and I never finished them. This time I plan on sticking with one model until it’s right. I finally stated making clean geometry. Now I want to concentrate on sculpting. I got rid of the clunky shoes and made her leggings into boots. What do you think and by all means rip it apart; the more mistakes found the better I get.

At the minute she looks like a girl action doll, what style are you going for, are you going for a realistic look/cartoony etc etc ?

Hey man looks good so far…Pay more attention to ur body:D proportions…usually a standard fully grown human body length wud be proportional to nearly 8 heads . Ur models head looks a lil small so…Just geat ur proportions right n i think u hav a great model at hand …also do some detail wid skin and the cloths…[if not done already]:sunglasses:
:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: all d best …

Thanks Sparky3d and Rocketeer. Right now i’m going for a cartoon look. I’m still playing with the different materials. I still have more detailing and shaping to do. Thanks for the comments.

Looking forward to seeing the progression
