I have a character I’m working on and I want to reposition either the top or bottom of the jaw to line up the bite. I have the teeth as a separate subtool and I want to be able to move both the jaw and the teeth at the same time. Is there a way to make both subtools active at the same time to move both at once?
Merge teeth down to jaw then you could rotate ‘them’ both. Easiest way I can think of. HTH.
not that i know of.
i’d make duplicates of each, then merge them into one tool and then group split them back into separate subtools.
You really need to get the teeth ‘attached to the lower jaw’ in order to easily set a pivot point and rotate and move it into place.
Another way is to use Tool>Deformation>Repeat To Other to repeat the action on the other subtools. For example:
- Mask the whole of the skull subtool so it won’t be affected. This means you can keep it visible.
- Move one subtool, such as the jaw, into position using Tool>Deformation>Offset.
- Press Tool>Deformation>Repeat To Other to move the other subtools.
Important: at (2) you must only set the slider once before pressing the button at (3) as Repeat To Other will only repeat the last action, not a combination of actions.
yeah i know i could merge them but was hoping to keep them as separate subtools for now.
Merge it, should be two groups but 1 thing to move; Place where desired and use group split
Ok, thanks for the help!
