Editable transparent mesh

Ok, I’ve been searching all over but i cannot find a solution. Hopefully someone can help: Is it possible to have the subtool that you have selected to be transparent, and the subtools that are not selected to be solid? I know when you turn transparency on, it does the exact opposite. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I’m using 3.5r3 btw

excuse me, why dont upgrade to ZB4?

Mainly because of my school. Right now, they only have 3.5r3 and not too sure when they will upgrade. And I don’t want to limit myself to where I can work on projects.

No, but it would be nice. Something for the wishlist.

I think, right now, the closest you will get is to use Image Plane plugin, load an image into the background then use Model Opacity slider, but that will change the transparency of all visible subtools at the same time.

I know, right? Seems like a huge over look in my opinion. Ah well.

there’s a plugin for this from a guy named gm770 called 3dopacity. cant remember where i found it but i can link it if needed
