Edgeloops breaking the mesh

Hi,

I’m having problems with edgeloops. Sometimes when I select 4 faces, then click on edgeloop it only connects 3 of the 4 faces…and effectively breaks the mesh (which you see when you move one of the points).
I used it on an imported subdivided cube…problem seems random…sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t…Is this a bug?

Is this an imported model? Are you sure that all the points are welded?

Yes, it’s an imported obj. file from 3dsmax7…
…and yes, all the points are welded (I dubbelchecked by exporting the tool
from ZBrush, and back into max;)
