Greetings, anyone know how to activate:
Edgeloop/Inner Extrude/Displace Amount…? the slider is inactive and set at 0
I’m using a polymesh. i forgot the trick to this one!
thanks !

Shoot, I was just reading some old threads looking for something else and read something about this…back of head thing to remember kind of thing…I believe I saved the link but am not sure but will try to find it for ya if I can.
Dang…dang dang…I just read it…grrrrr where was it?
Think for a moment about what the various Geometry features do.
The IExtr feature is similar to an Edge Loop in that it contracts the visible polygons and fills in the created space with new ones – in effect creating a ring of new polygons inside the visible area. The key word here is “visible” which means that the feature will not be available unless the mesh is partially hidden.
When you’re working with a mesh that has multiple subdivision levels, the ReFit button also becomes active. This means that when Edge Loop or Divide is used, any new geometry will conform to the existing surface. This of course precludes any displacement from being done by the IExtr function, and so the Disp slider is not available. Turn off ReFit, and that slider will become available because ZBrush is no longer required to keep the new polygons constrained to the exisiting surface.
That’s why your the Super Moderator.
Thank you for sharing the wisdom / workflow.
reminds me of this great lesson:
creating a simple cube

this is a good lesson, although i would never have thought of this no matter how many moments i took.
