Edge loop issues

Hi all, I’m having a little trouble with a certain edge loop, Instead of creating the edge loop, It hides the visible area and then add’s another to the polygroup.

I know that Zbrush on mac has issues like the requirement of a subtool to make edge loops to begin with so I’m just checking there isn’t something else I missed

i’ve encountered weirdness like this before using edgeloops. marcus helped me out.
if you still have a copy of your model without the edgeloops do this(could try it with the loops you have but no guarantees)

  1. Turn off Tool:Geometry:Smt and then press Tool:Geometry: Divide once.

  2. Press Tool:Geometry: Del Lower.

  3. Press Tool:Texture:Enable UV and then press Tool:Geometry:Reconstruct Subdiv.

  4. At the lower subdiv level press Tool:Geometry: Del Higher. As any polygroups will have been lost you may wish to press Tool:Polygroups:Group Visible.

  5. Select the polys and edgeloop as normal.
    you will of course loose your polygroups so you’ll have to set those back up but this method seems to clear out the error that is causing your problem.

Thanks man, I worked around it in the end, But it’s great knowledge for the future, I wanted to pull my har out yesterday lol.
