need to add more res to my mesh but edge loop in geometry is greyed out so i cant use it. how can i activate it so as i can add more res?
Did you remember to use the magic ‘Make Polymesh3D’ button ?

have you isolated the area you want to add an edge loop to??
ctrl shift drag to isolate
yes i did those 2 things
What version of zbrush are you using. There was one version (3.12 I believe) with a bug where you needed to have more than one subtool (or one subtool hidden I cannot remember which) before the edge loop button became active.
