Dynameshes wont push past a certain polycount because?? (pics inside)

Hey all,

I’ve been still getting issues with Dynamesh sticking to certain polycount, I have some meshes that sit around
1mil while others are on 2mil with even less details.

I’ve tried re-project and re-importing with no luck, does anyone know any little tricks to increase the polycount?
Also tried up scaling with no luck.

Here’s couple examples of whats happening.

Both the same mesh, 1024 res, made an edit and remeshed. Lower polycount resulted

The arm mesh wont push past 1mil mark while smaller mesh with less details sit on 2mil mark.

If anyone can post any tips on what I’m doing wrong exactly it would be appreciated

Cheers,
Nash

Zbrush assigns more polygons and remeshing accuracy to an object the larger it is in the Zbrush worldspace. If you get significantly different results remeshing one object at the same resolution setting, vs another, this is almost certainly the case.

So if you need added resolution for a remesh, just try scaling it up in the ZB worldspace temporarily, then scaling it back down to fit. Or upscaling your entire project, if that is an option, for consistently better (but slower) results.

That said, keep in mind DM is a tool best used for quickly building form in low to medium rez meshes. Once you have your form and you’re working on surface detail, the benefit from DM diminishes, and you may as well be zbrushing as normal, relying on projection to transfer detail to different underlying meshes if there is a need.
