Dynamesh unit

Hey guys,

I want to know if there is any way i can change the dynamesh unit size so it gets more relative to the objects. I’m having trouble with the life sized model I currently have. Even at the resolution of 8, dynamesh makes the model too dense! I constantly have to scale it down, dynamesh it and then scale it back up with some errors.

Thanks

The Dynamesh resolution is based on the standard size as displayed in the Tool>Preview window. To adjust your model to this size you need to press Tool>Deformation>Unify. At this size the Dynamesh resolution can be thought of as the divisions of a cube that encloses the model. If your model is larger then these cubes are repeated, effectively increasing the resolution. The only way to use Dynamesh at a low resolution is to reduce the size of the model. Only scale back up when you have finished using Dynamesh.

I see, thanks for the reply. Wish there were some sort of a relative scale property to manually change the scale ZBrush works in globally. Sadly I have so many subtools now and if i unify everything back I would lose all my measurements. Any simple way of scaling them back up to where they were? I tried Size in Geometry section but that seems to be a relative number, Not something i can rely on. Same thing goes for Size in “deformation” tab. If i scale -100 and again -50 I can’t revert it back to original scale with +100 and +50. Also these two features tend to make ZBrush crash frequently if used constantly for me.
