I love all the new features. Alot of my models will be grown from an RP machine I own, so the new thickness tool in dynamesh is a great feature. Here is a problem I am encountering and I wonder if I am doing something wrong as this seems unlikely a problem with Zbrush or the voxel tech behind this. After I create thickness I use the new slice curve brush, to cut the ball into two halves (useful for cutting models into parts to be printed i.e arms removed from the torso, etc. So here is what I am doing:
- First I created a dynamesh ball.
- I negatively removed an incert cylinder brush with thickness selected at default 4, to create a shell.
- Then with this shelled ball, I use the slice curve brush with groups on in dynamesh.
- After this, I dynamesh again to create the new geometry.
- Using the split groups in geometry tab, I break them into a tool and subtool.
At this point you can inspect the new geometry and it looks to me that zbrush closes the holes all across the ball instead of closing the thickness of the ball (See pic). This is a real downer if you cannot cut shelled geometry for printing or any other use.Lets hope I am doing something wrong! Any help on how to do this would be greatful.
Thanks in advance,
