Dynamesh merged toes, is this fixable?

Hey, I have a problem with dynamesh on my model. Unfortunately it has merged my toes together. Like this: http://i.imgur.com/AdTWimp.jpg how can i reverse this so that all the toes are separated again? If that cant be done is there a way to fill in that hole instead?

You can use an insert brush with a subtraction and/or increase your dynamesh resolution and simply push back the areas that are connected until they are inside the foot then re-dynamesh again.

You can also use inflate to make the “hole” overlap and then re-dynamesh and it will get filled in.

excellent, thank you for the reply!

I decided that there is too much detail to be lost by dynameshing it so the insert brush is probably my best option, could you please give me a description of how I go about using it to remove geometry? Ive never used the tool before haha. I tried inserting a cylinder and holding alt to subtract but it leaves the outer shell of the cylinder and does not effect the foot at all.

Also when i try dynamesh the model it also doesn’t activate, the button for dynamesh stays un-highlighted for some reason…

I’d have to see your file or images showing your interface to help you with the dynamesh grayed out part.

You shouldn’t lose any information through dynamesh.
Duplicate your model (ctrl+shift+D)
take your duplicate and dynamesh it and fix the toes.
leave dynamesh and add subD levels
project your new mesh onto your old one
keep sculpting.

That projecting method worked cheers, as for the dynamesh it turns out there was a small portion of mask remaining that I had to clear
