Dynamesh is not leting me "reconstruct subdiv"

Hi guys…another BIG problem…Dynamesh is not leting me “reconstruct subdiv”…
I need a low level to bind it (for rigging) to zspheres…But zb says always: “…contains triangles, operation canceled”…
i found a other way…but it seems really complicated…is there a other solution than this below ???

thanks guys !

If the mesh wasn’t made from a subdivided base mesh, as dynamesh isn’t, it’s impossible to reconstruct (reverse subdivide) it.

Your other alternative is Retopology and Project All.

Thank U zber2 and Richard:slight_smile:To Richard: what does this mean exactly ? can I use a subdivided base mesh…transform it to dynamesh and than get the lower subdiv levels ??? could you explain what u mean please ?! would be great

thanks U guys !

Hey Mario,

I came across the same problem. The way I solved it was to duplicate the sculpted dynamesh, reduce the resolution of the copy then subdivide it to a suitable level and finally project the original dynamesh onto the newly subdivided model. You may have to play around with the dist and mean a bit to get accurate results.

So now you can go back down to sd level 1 and do any retopo that you need.

Hope this works for you.

thank u
