Ok, Dynamesh is great, it really is.
Unfortunately, I’m having an issue that, no matter how hard I try to solve it, it’s driving me crazy.
So, I imported a model from Maya, converted into DynaMesh as usual, sculpted it a bit, than subdivide it, increased the resolution slider of the DynaMesh up to 512 to retain more detail, etc. Everything worked fine so far.
Than, I decided to import a set of hands and feet from another model, converted them to the highest level of DynaMesh (which is 1024) and then I wanted to merge them into my model and fuse them together into a beautiful 1024 DynaMesh model.
Problem is, for some reason, now DynaMesh refuses to create an hipoly mesh! No matter the resolution of the slider, no matter the scale of the model, it just reshape itself into a medium-res mesh, loosing all the details.
- I tried increasing the scale of the model, 100 time, 1000 times, even 10000 times, but I get the SAME exact medium-res mesh.
- I tried cloning the object. No luck.
- I tried exporting the object into OBJ, then re-import it. No luck.
- I tried using the Unify button in the Deformation menu. No luck.
Dynamesh just doesn’t want to generate a hi-res model. The maximum number of polygon I got is about 480.000, which is nothing considering that the previous DynaMesh model was around 3 million polygons…
This is driving me crazy, please somebody help!
