Dynamesh - get inserts straight and centered

Hi there,

I am a really newbie just starting with Dynamesh from primitives.
As you can see from my icon, I am having a hard time getting newly inserted primitives like cylinders and cubes
straight and centered into my existing dynamesh to continue symetrically.

Is there an easy way to achieve this?

Thanks for any help.

If you are in a front view, activate Symmetry (X). Enable Z symmetry + M symmetry only. Enable Radial symmetry and change radial count to 3 or 4. Where the red dots converge will be the center of your subtool.

Hi zber2,

Thank you very much for your fast help!

Do you have a solution also, how to insertbrush a mesh straight, I mean upright and not tilted?

The MeshInsert will always be inserted perpendicular to the surface you are inserting into. If you want to change the position of the MeshInsert, then you can use the Move (W), Scale (E) or Rotate ® Transform Action Line to fix it before you remesh (Ctrl+drag on canvas). That is the reason why the mesh being inserted into is automatically masked before you remesh.

Oh I see, thank you. I was hoping for a simpler way.

So would a featurerequest for a simple “straight/centered insert”-button make sense maybe,
to be able to build up your basedynasmesh fast from primitives?

You can append a new subtool then merge it into the dynamesh, and re-dynamesh it. It should be scripted into a button.
