I exported a real world scale model using GOZ to Zbrush from Maya. I can sculpt on the mesh with no problem, but if I try to dynamesh it, it takes a 30-40 seconds to refresh each time I drag off the mesh for the auto dynamesh retop. It also takes over a minute just to get into dynamesh mode.
My quick but NOT efficient solution:
First, I have to scale down the model in Zbrush so that dynamesh will work correctly.
Second, I retop the mesh.
Third, I GOZ the mesh back to Maya, and have to re-scale it to real world scale. The problem with this is my displacements scale (if any) will have to be tweaked in Maya to work correctly.
I wish that Zbrush’s Dynamesh worked on really large meshes without serious lag or crashing so I wouldn’t have to scale down my real world meshes before dynamesh.
