lovin the anatomy of the torso. very cool.
AA-ron - Thanks. There is 13 days left
You should enter no matter what your skill. Great way to learn.
LeoAMD - Thanks
Low poly is done and unwrapped. I started ripping normal maps and ambient occlusion maps. The goal is to be done with all of that tonight and start texturing him tomorrow. Right now he weighs in at just about 6000 triangles and is using 3/4 a 2048 map. I saved 1/4 for the weapon and artifact. This is a real time print screen from Xnormal. Thanks for the interest.

Wow, this is incredible. I wish i could sculpt like that. I wasw ondering for the armguards, how did you manage to get such a nice crispt edge on the outline. Like you said you mask off the areas you want inflated. But did you use a hard edge dot alpha? Or a line to mask them off. I usually end up getting falloff and not crisp. Also the layered brush seems to work pretty good for this. But this looks amazing, canāt wait to see finished version.
rubent100 - Thanks. For the armguards I did the same thing but after I made the mask I Ctrl-Alt Left clicked the mesh. This sharpens the mask. Ctrl Left click blurs it. You can also do this in masking.
Ok, Low poly is ripped. I also painted the masks in layers in PS. This allows me to quickly try color ideas out and keep in the lines. So these are just fast fills. Trying to figure out my color scheme now. These are not the colors I am using.

Very refined looking. Will his current pose be the final pose?
AA - Thanks. He will be holding this lantern with swirls flying about him sort of forward and holding a sword behind his back.
Spent most of my time working on the AO and normal map to get it to look better. Started on a base color texture for the skin and just a solid color for everything else. Colors good?
This is sort of the lighting I am thinking about on the right., some more rim, but close to this. The left is him in shadow. And I am just getting started with the glows.

hey nice character !
You could probably add some color variations on the skin , for example some reds and around the joints , where the skin gets thinnerā¦
keep the good work coming
you could make a bigger differnce between the 2 renders , more lights for the brighter one, i like the one in shadows
Wow every update is better then the last. I would agree with gollum, you should use alittle skin color variation just to add to that realism. But looks incredible so far.
itās guillom not āāgollumāā , iām not that freaky
Wow you replied right away! lol⦠Go reply to the one on your thread haha.
guillom - Yeah. The skin is just a quick base color right now. I will go in and work it out soon.
rubent - Thanks. I will do that
Started working on the cloth texture some. I also started detailing in the armor and figuring out some more colors. Anything grey has not even been touched. No work on anything but the color and normal. I know the cloth is too shiny. Also this is just a base coat for the skin, it will get more undeady.

First of all , great work on the entire model.
As for the cloth , I really like how you did the degraded parts in the cloth, but i also notice quitesome symmetry with those parts.
I think it really looks great, but I would maybe put some more details in the hand/glove areas. From the shots you have posted, I assume the fingers end in pointed nails or some such, but not quite sure. Just with the great detail that you have everywhere else, it makes the hands like a little plain. But overall, really amazing!
The Namek - Thanks. Yeah I should have done each side unique. I was worried about texture space.
phhmlw - Agreed. I was going to wait and see how much of those I saw in the final shot once he is holding the sword anf the lantern. They are quite plain now.
Everything is low polied and textured now. Need to make a base and add the spirit swirls. Then I will pose the guy and call it done. Thanks for the crits.

Love the new elements that you added to your character. The flames and the colors that you have added are starting to make the evilness (is that a word?) come out!
Very nice work!
NickZ
very nice low poly model, something very hard to do.
nickz - Thanks. Sounds like a word to me
mdale13 - Thanks. I could have done better topology in the shoulder areas. He does not bend very well.
Did the start of the base. Going to work the stone more. I am going to add the logo to the stone. Add some fencing along the edges. Weeds along the edges. Corpse hands and some glow from under the ground. Home stretch

Really impressive!
nice job, and good luck!
Wow nice update! Are you adding these details like the fire in photoshop?
Wow, amazing progress. It looks great!
