Goddess Durga is the mother of the universe and believed to be the power behind the work of creation, preservation, and destruction of the world.
The name “Durga” in Sanskrit means “invincible”. It also means “she who is incomprehensible or difficult to reach.”
Durga translates into the one who eliminates sufferings. Mother Durga protects her devotees by destroying evil forces such as selfishness, jealousy, prejudice, hatred, anger and ego.
