Dump 'O Zbrush...

Hi, all! I am a long time fan of ZBrush. I finally decided to start posting. Hopefully, I can learn a lot from the pool of talent that is here. I know I’m not as amazing as most people on these boards but I enjoy making whatever it is that I do.

This first ZBrush sculpt is inspired by a sketch from Jon Diesta.
I know it does not exactly match his drawing but I had fun making it.
Everything was made inside of ZBrush.ChunLi.jpg

That’s all for now. Thanks for looking.

cool, I like the rabbit. Run away…!!!
Nice cartoon style. Keep it up.

Here is a little morphing animation I did inside of ZBrush. No external programs were used to render or model. All sculpts were made from the same ZSphere.

Nice stuff Moops! I haven’t seen that Ryan Wood one before. I diggit! Glad you finally posted these for all to enjoy! Keep 'em coming.

Cool sculptings! I like them!

I also like your morphing video. You say that you did it inside Zbrush. I searched for it but I cannot find any tool to morph and make a video with that. I use Zbrush 3.2 on Mac.

Can you tell how you did it?

hell666 - Yeah, I did it all inside of ZBrush. It’s a really convoluted and confusing process that hurts my brain, but it works. I’ll try to get a tutorial made for you soon.

Really great work. i’d love to see those sculpts polypainted, particularly the carnivorous rabbit.
And PLEASE post a tutorial on the convoluted and confusing process of morphing that hurts your brain.

The girl is lovely ! The face studies are cool too, especially the skull.

You can actually do this using the Turntable Plus plugin (available from the Download Center). You can add more than one morph by simply adding to your existing movie. I’ll try and put a more extended tutorial on the wiki tomorrow; in the meantime here are the basics:
http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Turntable_Plus#Layer_Intensity

Marcus and Moop: Thank you! I am looking forward to the tutorial. I also tried it “alone” with the manual but I failed…

Marcus is right.

A main thing to remember is that ZBrush keeps whatever you render using the movie menu in memory so you can continue to render how ever many layers you have the patience for.

You can also combine TurntablePlus with the regular turntable options to have your model spin tthen stop then morph to a new model then spin again etc…

You can change how many spinframes to render shen morphing or spinning to create the effect of speeding up or slowing down.

The reason I think it is a pain to do is that if you mess up after rendering 6 different layers you have to start over.

Here is a very quick explanation:
Rendering-Process.jpg
After the rendering is done you can preview the movie and export it.

If this isn’t clear, I could do a short video tutorial as well.

It is also very important to stay on the same subdivision level when sculpting, If you go down a level on a new layer it will mess up the rest of your layers. The way I avoid going down a level so I am not tempted to use them is to delete all lower subdivision levels.

Here’s a little something I’ve been working on for a bit. The original concept is by Jeff Campbell.

Link to the concept.

I am going to do all of the turtles and Splinter.

You have really great work here and many thanks for the tutorial – I have to try that one day.
Just saw your turtle. What a coincidence – Im also working on all 4 TMNT characters at the moment (the 89er version, though). One of my favourite cartoon series. I found a lot of Zbrush TMNT here at ZBC but hey -- you can never have enough of them. Turtle Power! :D I love your old Donatello. The whole concept is awesome. And the fat Raph is SOOO funny! Cant wait to see them all together.

I finally have Leonardo finished.

I like it! :+1:

He would look cool in a video game

Well, it took me a while but I finally got around to Michelangelo…

Rocking!!! Love em!!! :D:+1:
