thanks for the critique regarding the shin, i will keep it in mind when doing the adjustment.
Oh the model is actually not 9 heads…
it is actually 8 heads (where the jawline starts is the 8th division),
so he is around 7 1/2-ish… sorry if it’s not clear,
but i guess making the shin bone larger will account for a good 8 heads

actually i didn’t plan to use David, but when i googled for ‘contrapposto’, it is one of a few that i liked and used to refer
but yeahh it is based very loosely

Okay here’s the update

a friend mentioned that the right leg should rotate more towards the center and from the side view it was really wrong and so those are fixed
regarding the shin bones length, i have it fixed but only on the left leg (the bent one) - for some reason i was making the legs to 8 heads long but looks awkward so i decided to keep it 7 1/2
btw i came across this nice article about contrapposto and ‘rythm’ -

ok definitely some areas needed more/less volume and adjusting etc2,

Nice job so far on the last figure pose…and great little tut in that link you posted…
On your figure with the bow,…maybe make the bow longer. The bow would have to be longer in order for the bow string to be pulled back all the way without snapping the bow in the fireing position he is in now…The distance from his fingers that hold the feathered end of the arrow to the hand that is holding the bow, should be relative to the lenght of the bow, and it’s bending capabilities …Just a minor suggestion and observation that caught my eye right away when I saw him in the act of shooting an arrow.
Looking forward to seeing the progress on both of these pieces…

This is looking like a nice sculpt. I suggest looking at your muscle groups around the scapulae. It looks like you might be missing the Rhomboid.

i would like some opinion whether you guys like the first pose (the one where the left arm is on the knee) or the second pose with the arms open?
the fingers sorry i haven’t finished transposing them - the left hand will be a fist and the right arm will be extended touching the floor.
Also if you have any pointers regarding proportion, angle or whatever - please feel free to correct me

here’s what i have up to this point, just past the initial transposing.
some volumes are lost during the process and the they’re both only at level 4 division or something
but if you have any comments and suggestions please dont hesitate to share so i can improve it

Don’t know if you already have this but look back at your thread, you were trying to get your proportions correct. This is one of the image I use to try and get landmarks correct. I hope this helps. BTW. I love your poses.

Looking much more dynamic and full of energy in your latest post.
Wouldn’t mind seeing the elbow bone protruding and showing a little in the guys arm that is receiving the kick and blocking it…in the top image of latest post, that elbow area looks a little rubbery and lacking the boney protrusions that the muscles connect to…just minor stuff,but important because that arm is where your tension, focus, and point of impact is located…

anyways i wasn’t very happy with the kneeling guy coz i felt his pose is too stiff and boring, so i did another version

Looking great…really getting a dynamic energy flow and movement going on between the two guys…
Only suggestion I can think of for this latest version, …is that usually with that flying swinging action roundhouse kick, the kicker gets a little higher up in his jump, and gives the other guy a heel to the temple ideally, or at least to the face area if his judgement happenes to be off a little.
Kicking the other guy in the shoulder, will only leave you open for a counter attack by your opponent, before you get a chance to land and regain your ballance…
Keep going…like I said…looking GREAT…
Personally i liked the first pose better… it felt much more dynamic. The level change between the two characters made it really interesting to look at. Good stuff man keep it up.

the past few days i have been busy accessorizing the two, obviously one guy is still missing his hair, and the clothing sculpt i’m still not 100% sure so i left it at subdiv 3 or something and hoping to get some feedback
