Really nice work, Poisensoul!
Very impressive indeed. The black and white is nice, I hope you don’t add color personally, but that’s just me…
Ahh, the details…
Speaking of making prints from this image - what resolution did you create it in?
thanks guys! “and girls?”
“Meats” yeah i really like restricted color schemes for some reason,
and as for print, i regret that i dint do it very high, the original is 2000 x 2000
which while high, isnt the best for print, i need to start working in higher resolutions for alot of different reason’s, print being one…and being able to add more detail another!
i think the max for z brush is 4kX4k right? but isnt that at 72 dpi? and if so most print should be at 300 dpi, so the max high resolution possible for print out of ZB at 300dpi would be around 1kX1k? if im getting it right?
anyone help me out here?
J.B.
If you have >= 2000 resolution for output you’re fine for large format. Even 2000x2000 is no problem as ‘resampling’ it on Photoshop e.g. will make up for the missing pixels. Averaging and resampling goes a long way there. Try it and you will be surprised regarding the quality. And 4096 is actually a resolution which is apropriate for cinematography. And I don’t think you need a print THAT BIG.
However, I am still dreaming of an old movie theatre as house/apartement. In case I can get my hands on one… Please render higher then 2000 8-).
Really, 2000x2000 is poifect for larger prints.

PS: The DPI are a hint for the output RIP regarding scaling. Resampling in an external app and then printing it 1:1 is the way to go as long as you don’t know the quality of the equipment handling your output. Some RIP’s are fabulous, some are rather clueless.
…for printing is haven’t "jaegies"on the start image !!!
As lemmonado said 2000 *2000 begin to be very comfortable!

Your style is unique. Great stuff!

Sorry, I have to disagree about 2000X2000 being perfect for large prints.
4096X4096 is still not perfect for large prints and 2000 is just 1/4 that scale. Try both ways and look at them side by side…
I print all of my work at around 40 inches or so and that is “passable” at the larger resolution.
My method -
Always do final work at 4096 - yes, it means you have to put in 4 times the amount of detail - it is worth it.
Scale in PS to 40 inches at 150 dpi (this amount of scale is fine, you won’t notice any difference)
Clean edges with smudge tool
Profit (joke)
Also, look at the program “genuine fractals” - it is an excellent way to scale artwork up to higher resolution without any pixelation. Amazing program.
good luck!
Definitely leave it in grayscale… it lets the viewer ponder what it would like if it was real…
As far as a print goes… I’d love to get one even if it wasn’t a super big one either…
Ooh Man you’re just an Unique artist in da Planet
Poisen, your work has so much detail in it. A very distinctive style. Very ambitious and beautifully realized. Excellent stuff…

Holy Cow Meats. 40 Inches. All I can do is 26x19 on two sheets and that looks delicious as of 2000 dots. Of course… the finer the better. But as of 2000 dots it’s already nice to hang up.

poisen, this is way cool! I’de leave in black and white it looks great that way. Great work!

Outstanding image ! You might consider Gunuine Fractals at
www.lizardtech.com this Photoshop plugin does exceptional fractal enlargement. I’ve seen photos enlarged as much as 400% with NO loss of detail. I believe that you can download the demo which is good for around 30 sessions. You might give it a look.
Simply amazing work and great imagination! I 'd love to see more! Can you show us some of the meshes used? How many polys on those dragons?
