Greetings everyone. I finally finished my tribute to ‘A Christmas Story’. Jean Shepherd’s classic story of a boy in search of a Red Ryder BB Gun. The lighting on the sign, frosted windows, snow, etc. were postwork. There are other things I wanted to do to it, but I’ve got to let it go and get back to some Christmas projects. Hope ya like it. Merry Christmas! 50.
Great X-mas picture Rich !
Perhaps it would be nice to try to make a more “warm” light in the shop and
keep the “colder” light ,that u are using now, for the outside !
Just an idea…dont know if its easy in Zbrush to to a thing like that ?

Hi five oh,
Yes, I LIKE IT!
Jean Shephard is one of my all time heroes. In the 70’s, his radio shows of story-telling, ad-libbing and kazoo music played nightly in my studio while I worked.
A wonderful tribute…
Sven
Good work man,
Very intricated…

Hi Jantim, thanks, and good point.
Hi Sven, and thanks for that link. I haven’t known alot about him, and never heard his radio shows.
Thank you, Marciani.
bye guys. Rich.
great subject and beautiful parts you used there, but i agree with Jantim - It really lacks of the warm xmas-shop-window-flair we all know.
greets froyd
Yup. 50 my friend, you need some warm light to invite us into that wonderful shop fullof desireable toys! Otherwise - awesome!
…directly in the new movie “Pony Express”

Wow great work! I like the subtle reflections in the wagon wheels.
50, that’s a great image. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Frenchy, don’t you mean Polar Express?

Hi everyone, Thanks for your comments. I had turned the color saturation down to give it an old feel and had it much less than it is, almost black and white, but turned it up a couple notches. Sometimes you try things and they don’t convey the way you want. When everyone notices the same thing, there’s something to it. I had also planned to insert a picture of my 10 year old nephew as a reflection in the window, but thought it might be too busy.
Pilou, I can’t wait to see that movie.
Bye all. 50.
Very beautiful scene. I love every part of it.
My thanks, Vlad.
Wow that turned out great! Much better than I had envisioned while viewing your little teasers!!
I see you “solved” your shadow problem:D
Hi everyone, I took the ‘cooler-warmer’ comments on the lighting to heart and I think it helped. I also put it into a card format. Thanks for your input.
Hi aminuts, I baked and did alot of shadow painting.
Bye all. 50.
It’ s very good,i love the effect
Great…

Top Row, Five Oh, Top Row!
Super rich rendering - and I like the lights. Definitively, one of your best anthologies, sir.
Sven
Everytime is better than your previous.
