Draw to Grid alignment symmetry problem

My object is slightly misaligned with my background grid photo, but every time I move the model over to be aligned with it the symmetry point changes and when I try to add new zspheres (such as on the arms), it doesnt properly reflect and only draws one/draws it in the wrong place.

Is there a way I can move my model to fit the reference without changing my symmetry point? I had the same problem when I tried to move the 1st zsphere before adding to it.
this is a screenshot of the back view (unfinished of course but the point is the symmetry alignment)

just adjust the horizontal slider for your reference image in the draw palette

^^^ Yep.

In the future, you might want to prepare your reference image(s) in photoshop or something to center it before setting it to the grid.
