Draw Rect move while drawing?

Hi I want to draw out an alpha with drag rect but i want to move it around as I’m sizing (like spacebar in photoshop) is this possible? Another way is to use drag dot but can i lock the angle of the dot so it doesn’t spin around?

thanks!

David

While holding down Ctrl, select the DragRect stroke and the alpha you will be using. While still holding down Ctrl, draw out the alpha starting on a blank spot on the canvas. You can now size it how you want. Without letting go of Ctrl, hold down the Spacebar to move it and let go of Spacebar to scale it again.

does this work on geometry, like a sphere? I’m not getting it to work.

In the stroke palette there is a roll option.

roll doesn’t apply to drag rect though?

AH HA! I see whats going on. Thanks for the video. Basically he’s clicking outside of the model first which is actually using rectangle mask vs drag rect. its probably just better to use rectangle mask then you can turn on square and center. The only downside to this is it doesn’t automatically push the geo in. I find its a lot cleaner when I use drag rect with zsub on then making a mask and pushing it in manually.

Does anyone have a really clean way of pushing in masked geo?

zber2 is there a way to turn of the spin from a dragdot stroke?

No, I don’t think so. However, if you use the DragDot stroke in Projection Master, it won’t spin.

Thanks

ye it’s a bit weird it rolls around like crazy as I dragdot the mask, but I guess I have to get used to spacebar …
