Drake Bust

Hey everyone. I came home somewhat drunk last night and decided to play with zbrush.
Not a bad idea. This is a dragon/drake bust work in progress…obviously not done. Made with a zsphere(actually it was a sphere3d…my mistake). Just roughed out the proportions. I like how its shaping up. Might finish it, might not…just thought I would share.

Welcome Banished (that sounds like a contradiction if ever there was one:D)

Well I for one like the look of this creature and think you should press on with it. Maybe a long slender neck might suit him better? Good luck with it.

Cheers,

And here was me thinking it was going to be a picture of a duck on skidrow.

Operating ZBrush drunk - nothing beats it.

They can have that one free for their advertising.

Good attempt considering - even managing to upload gives me an enormous sense of achievement.

:+1:

Shadowfiend: Yeah I thought the neck was too big as well, thanks for pointing that out. I also made the face more slender and longer. Just trying to get the proportions all set so I can finaly add some real detail. You are right about pressing on with this…seems like its a lot more fun to zbrush things entirely in zbrush and not using other 3d packages. I also loaded my sphere3d>polymesh3d into zmapper because i wanted to see how the uvs looked…I was happly suprised to see that the entire mesh has a good spherical mapping with one seam running down the back of the neck. I think ill make my non-animated heads strictly in zbrush from now on.

Boozy: You are right about that hah! Now I feel weird working on it sober…maybe I’ll go buy a six pack and sit down again with my “drinking” pal zbrush. Nah.

For future reference:

If you like help from the modellers on the forum often posting your zspheres image + a wireframe will give people a stronger idea of where or how your design may be improved should you seek a crit.

Most of the best work you will see on the forum uses an external modeler in tandem with ZBrush - this will help you quickly re-adjust your edgeloops as well as tidy up problems areas that pinch etc.

A cheap package such as Silo is a great companion to ZBrush.
