Dragrect cutting off my alpha

I’m trying to apply an alpha with Dragrect on Standard brush. but it keeps cutting off the end of my alpha. It seems like the Dragrect keeps applying alphas using some round brush shape. How do I keep my alphas from getting cut off??? (Please see image.)

what are your brush settings?

With drag rect you need a square alpha. The brush strokes individually are round so you are getting clipping of your image. So if you redesign your alpha so the image sits in a square you will notice the clipping is gone.

Rectangle/non-square alphas can be used nicely with the track/roll brushes but you have to have your stroke set to dots or freehand. So try that and you’ll see you get the whole image. And from the appearance of your stroke you may have to adjust the midrange value in the Alpha menu to align the backround to the surface of your model so you don’t get a frame around your stroke.

Thanks for the info. I’ll try that.

You might also try rotating the alpha a quarter turn using the Alpha>Rotate button.

I am having the same problem. My alpha is square, and Rf set to zero. Still DragRect give me a circle? Which setting I have overlook? I am using the Standard brush as the base.

Edit: I think I finally find what needed done. the focal shift need to be -100.
